A Quick Update

I have found the perfect blanket to work on for a baby shower gift. It has to be the hardest thing I have ever tried to crochet, and the challenge is so wonderful to me for some reason. I love it. It is Heirloom Baby Blanket from Coats and Clarks free projects. I am doing it in snow white, so that if they have a boy or a girl it can work. It is a bit girly though from the flower in the middle, but hey, it's nice.

It's been a while, but I am finally able to have time to crochet again!

I know it's been a long time since I last posted, but life happens, ya know! I have been busy working and taking care of my family and watching my children grow up WAY TOO FAST before my eyes. My daughter will be ONE on the 15th of next month! Not to mention my son will turn THREE ont he 15th of November! I am happy and sad at the same time; happy that they are both growing up healthy and happy, but sad that they will never be my little babies again. Of course they will always be my babies, but you know what I mean. Nostalgia.....

Now for my current projects! I know I was working on the little girl's sweater last time I posted, and well, my daughter had outgrown the sizing before I finished it! I have decided to give it to a friend who has a daughter due in October! I will post a picture of the sweater and other projects I am working on when I can get a hold of a camera.

I have started a blanket called a Sunrise Sunset Afghan, and it is from Coats and Clarks free printed advertisements. It consists of making 48 squares, stitching them together, then bordering it all. So far I have two squares. One of each color combination.

I am also working on a baby blanket that I can already tell will take forever to complete, as the stitches take a long time to create on row.

Like I said, I will get pictures up as soon as I can get a camera, and I will post more later on!

Wow, it's May!

Well, May is here, and it really snuck up on me! I have been working on my new business and my job nonstop lately, with the only other time free being spent with my family.
I started a new project, but frogged it because I couldn't figure out where I was losing a stitch. I am starting over on it tomorrow night, or tonight after my meeting. It is a baby blanket for my friend, who had her son on May 2nd! I was there too! He is a blonde cutie!
On a family note, my daughter's first tooth broke through last night! All I know is that when she went down for her nap, it wasn't through yet, but when she woke up, it was! She is growing up too fast! I will have to get a picture when she is still enough!
I am planning on pulling out my red loom and making some hats for my friend's baby too, as she doesn't have any that fit him other than the one I gave her at her baby shower.
I also am planning on making a blue and white blanket for my son, as he is always wanting his sister's blanket I made her!
Did I mention that I got a new job making the same pay? Yep, and it is more flexible in that I will finally have weekends with my family again! And of course, more time to crochet and knit!

So I have some time on my hands

My back started hurting on Satuday morning at work. It got to the point of my having trouble walking, let alone standing upright. Yesterday, I went to the doctor, to find out that my back is spasming so bad that the natural curve of my spine is nonexistant at the moment. In other words, my back bone is straight as a board when it shouldn't be. That is the reason I can't stand up or walk normal..not to mention can't pick up my kids. I have been taking it easy, and therefore, have been working on the crocheted sweater pattern I found on Lauren's blog. The pattern is working up quickly, and I hope to finish it by tomorrow. Here's a picture of how far along I am:

I am making it a pretty good bit longer, as my daughter is tall for her age (28 unches already at seven months!) Leave me a comment on what you think!

Bidding War? and Project Picture.

So I gave my two weeks notice and told my boss why, and she offered higher pay than the other job did for me to stay and train to do the same thing. Okay, so I thought about it and calculated a $200 difference in the paycheck and said I would stay. The other job called and I told them my decision, and they offered an even higher pay rate for me to come to them! It was only 25 cents more, and with the gas prices, I decided to turn them down anyway, as the drive is 40 minutes one way.

I had an interview for another type of job altogether today, and found out while I was there that they were hiring for a couple of positions I could apply for. I applied for Car Sales Representative and Receptionist. I got told that I would probably be a good car saleslady, but that I would be an excellent receptionist....Makes me wonder if it is because I am a woman, since all the sales reps there were men but one. Anyway, they said they would call me Wednesday, as they are doing interviews for the next couple of days. I was the first of the day. I hope all goes well, as either job would give me the hours I need to have a more relaxed life with my family and of course more time with them too.

The little sweater I mentioned before is coming along beautifully, for what I have had a chance to do. Here's a pic, although badly lit.

It's khaki colored so far, and I am gonna give it a pink trim, or blue maybe. I haven't decided yet.

Whole Family has been Sick

Yep, it started with my son having a high fever, then my husband got sick. Now, my daughter and myself are just getting over it. Bronchitis. Yucky stuff.

I have good news. I had an interview at noon today for a new job, as I am tired of the drama at my current one, even though I have been at it for only two months. You never get a Saturday or a Sunday off, and we are working Easter Sunday, so I am missing my daughter's first Easter. I got the job today though, so I am thrilled. It pays more per hour, and I get a raise if all goes well after only 45 days! I am putting in my two weeks notice tomorrow, and hopefully all goes well. Pray for me.
The best part is that I don't have to work as many days, and the pay ends up being about the same as where I am busting my butt now. I miss my family, and this will give me the opportunity to have more time with them. It will also give me more time to work on some projects I have neglected, including that blanket made in the ombre. I need to get a camera to take some photos for you guys.

Well, that's all for now. I will post what happens when I give my two weeks notice tomorrow night!
