What a Week!

Whoa, last week was long! I had so much to do, and so little time to do it in! I can't believe March will be here next week! Life has been crazy, with twists and turns every time you blink!
My husband had been looking for a better job, and got a couple of offers. He gave his two weeks notice at his current work, and they countered by offering him a better position, on day shift, with a m40% increase in salary. He turned it down, and they literally moved people around to make a new position, with even more pay, and countered again. So, one day, he is having to go to Europe to train for the new job, the next, he accepts the counter offer from his current company. Makes my head spin! Yep, he would've had to go to Europe for amonth to train if he had went with the new company. Crazy stuff!
My daughter learned to say "I love you" last week, and it is the sweetest! My son, on the other hand, has learned how to use words like because, whatever, everything, almost, etc. in context correctly. It is so cute to hear him talking so much!

On projects, the dress I am making for my daughter seems to be coming along, and even when the measurements are correct for the patters, I still do not see how a 40 inch around skirt is going to fit a 21 inch two year old! The guage and everything are correct, but it seems so huge! I guess I will see what happens in the end!

It's been a while, but I am finally able to have time to crochet again!

I know it's been a long time since I last posted, but life happens, ya know! I have been busy working and taking care of my family and watching my children grow up WAY TOO FAST before my eyes. My daughter will be ONE on the 15th of next month! Not to mention my son will turn THREE ont he 15th of November! I am happy and sad at the same time; happy that they are both growing up healthy and happy, but sad that they will never be my little babies again. Of course they will always be my babies, but you know what I mean. Nostalgia.....

Now for my current projects! I know I was working on the little girl's sweater last time I posted, and well, my daughter had outgrown the sizing before I finished it! I have decided to give it to a friend who has a daughter due in October! I will post a picture of the sweater and other projects I am working on when I can get a hold of a camera.

I have started a blanket called a Sunrise Sunset Afghan, and it is from Coats and Clarks free printed advertisements. It consists of making 48 squares, stitching them together, then bordering it all. So far I have two squares. One of each color combination.

I am also working on a baby blanket that I can already tell will take forever to complete, as the stitches take a long time to create on row.

Like I said, I will get pictures up as soon as I can get a camera, and I will post more later on!

Wow, it's May!

Well, May is here, and it really snuck up on me! I have been working on my new business and my job nonstop lately, with the only other time free being spent with my family.
I started a new project, but frogged it because I couldn't figure out where I was losing a stitch. I am starting over on it tomorrow night, or tonight after my meeting. It is a baby blanket for my friend, who had her son on May 2nd! I was there too! He is a blonde cutie!
On a family note, my daughter's first tooth broke through last night! All I know is that when she went down for her nap, it wasn't through yet, but when she woke up, it was! She is growing up too fast! I will have to get a picture when she is still enough!
I am planning on pulling out my red loom and making some hats for my friend's baby too, as she doesn't have any that fit him other than the one I gave her at her baby shower.
I also am planning on making a blue and white blanket for my son, as he is always wanting his sister's blanket I made her!
Did I mention that I got a new job making the same pay? Yep, and it is more flexible in that I will finally have weekends with my family again! And of course, more time to crochet and knit!

So I have some time on my hands

My back started hurting on Satuday morning at work. It got to the point of my having trouble walking, let alone standing upright. Yesterday, I went to the doctor, to find out that my back is spasming so bad that the natural curve of my spine is nonexistant at the moment. In other words, my back bone is straight as a board when it shouldn't be. That is the reason I can't stand up or walk normal..not to mention can't pick up my kids. I have been taking it easy, and therefore, have been working on the crocheted sweater pattern I found on Lauren's blog. The pattern is working up quickly, and I hope to finish it by tomorrow. Here's a picture of how far along I am:

I am making it a pretty good bit longer, as my daughter is tall for her age (28 unches already at seven months!) Leave me a comment on what you think!

Whole Family has been Sick

Yep, it started with my son having a high fever, then my husband got sick. Now, my daughter and myself are just getting over it. Bronchitis. Yucky stuff.

I have good news. I had an interview at noon today for a new job, as I am tired of the drama at my current one, even though I have been at it for only two months. You never get a Saturday or a Sunday off, and we are working Easter Sunday, so I am missing my daughter's first Easter. I got the job today though, so I am thrilled. It pays more per hour, and I get a raise if all goes well after only 45 days! I am putting in my two weeks notice tomorrow, and hopefully all goes well. Pray for me.
The best part is that I don't have to work as many days, and the pay ends up being about the same as where I am busting my butt now. I miss my family, and this will give me the opportunity to have more time with them. It will also give me more time to work on some projects I have neglected, including that blanket made in the ombre. I need to get a camera to take some photos for you guys.

Well, that's all for now. I will post what happens when I give my two weeks notice tomorrow night!

Time flies when you want to relax!

Man, my two days off have flown by! I need so much more time to clean! I did manage to find one of those three drawer plastic rolling carts on sale cheap at a local store, so I have organised my yarn, looms, and needles. That's one less item off my to do list!

My daugther has started saying Da da! so I have been also engrossed in getting her to say it for me. My son on the other hand has been saying so many things new everyday that there are two many to name, but round n round and sit down please are a few!

I am gonna try my hand at hand knitting soon, so maybe I will post a pic of the progress within the next week!

Happy March everyone! ooh, St. Patrick's Day is this month...gotta make something green!
