Pictures and a Birthday!

Well, I decided that one of the finished dresses didn't look right, and when I went over the pattern and compared it to the picture, the straps were all wrong! It said make the straps 5 inches above the division, but there are two of them, and I used the second division! This 2 year old's dress fits me as a top! (I won't be wearing it though, so don't worry!) I gave it to Good Will. Maybe someone can fix it that knows better than I do!

Here is a round ripple I am working in for my DS, who is three.

Here are two dresses of the same pattern I am working on at the same time for my 18 month old daughter. One I started today, as I couldn't resist working with the pink yarn I bought yesterday, and the other I am planning to finish this week!

I am glad to finally be posting pictures again, even though they are from a cheap web camera that I got for this purpose. Maybe my husband will get me the SD card for my camcorder sooner or later....AND find the charger!!! (We lost it cleaning the office, and now the camcorder is dead!)

Oh, and for the birthday, it's mine!!!! I turned half way to fifty today!!!

As always, thanks for reading my blog!

Projects, Projects!

I have figured out (I think) how the dress is going to fit in the end, once it has all been sewn together. I am waiting to finish it until I get some snap sets and cute flower buttons for accents.
Until I get to the store in the morning, I decided to try to make my own pattern for a change. I decided to try to make my daughter a top. I finished it as well! I am happy to say I have created my own crochet pattern for a toddler girl's top! It is in mint green and lavender. It is also sleeveless, as we are getting ready for the spring and summer. I am going to try to post a picture IF I can get my camera to work. My husband still hasn't bought me a memory card for our camcorder....I will also post the pattern for others to try and use when I write it up soon.
I plan on trying to make matching capri pants for the top as well.
Okay, I'm off to bed to think on how to make the pants!

What a Week!

Whoa, last week was long! I had so much to do, and so little time to do it in! I can't believe March will be here next week! Life has been crazy, with twists and turns every time you blink!
My husband had been looking for a better job, and got a couple of offers. He gave his two weeks notice at his current work, and they countered by offering him a better position, on day shift, with a m40% increase in salary. He turned it down, and they literally moved people around to make a new position, with even more pay, and countered again. So, one day, he is having to go to Europe to train for the new job, the next, he accepts the counter offer from his current company. Makes my head spin! Yep, he would've had to go to Europe for amonth to train if he had went with the new company. Crazy stuff!
My daughter learned to say "I love you" last week, and it is the sweetest! My son, on the other hand, has learned how to use words like because, whatever, everything, almost, etc. in context correctly. It is so cute to hear him talking so much!

On projects, the dress I am making for my daughter seems to be coming along, and even when the measurements are correct for the patters, I still do not see how a 40 inch around skirt is going to fit a 21 inch two year old! The guage and everything are correct, but it seems so huge! I guess I will see what happens in the end!

Please Pray for Prattville, Alabama.

We had a terrible tornado destroy the business district and over 800 homes in my city this past Sunday. My place of work was destroyed as well, so I find myself without a job.

I have taken to working on some projects fervently since then. This week I have started on, and almost finished the skirt of, a dress for my daughter. I am making it in the 24 months size. It is in a baby blue, and a variegated blue. If I can get my camera to work, I will post pictures.

I have practically pushed pause on the blanket for my son, but have it halfway done. It is blue, green, and white. I just got burned out on the repitition.

I trashed a blanket I was working on a while back, because I decided the stitching was way too tight, and it would never lay flat. You learn from mistakes. It is the blanket in the last pictured post with the flower in the middle.

Thanks for reading my blog, and I hope to be a lot more active on here again!
